Bill Haney - President
Bill Haney is the President of Infante Sano. He is also a director, screenwriter, and producer. Prior to becoming a filmmaker, Bill was an inventor, entrepreneur and active environmentalist who spent 20 years founding and managing biotechnology and environmental technology companies. He serves or has served on a number of boards, including for Harvard University's Kennedy School, The President's Circle of the National Academy of Sciences, World Resources Institute, Huntington Theater and a number of other organizations. Bill lives in Boston with his wife Anne, a painter, and their three children.
Sarah Henry, MPH – Executive Director
Sarah served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic in a school for children with special needs. It was during her service that Sarah discovered her passion for working in HIV/AIDS prevention with adolescents and for public health in general. Upon completion of Peace Corps, Sarah obtained her MPH from Columbia University. As Infante Sano's first employee, Sarah joined Infante Sano in 2006 as the Country Director in the Dominican Republic. As Country Director she helped build and grow the field office, hired key staff, initiated partnerships, established work in our pilot hospital, and opened two rural maternal and newborn health clinics. Sarah returned to the US in 2008 to lead Infante Sano's Development team and now serves as the Executive Director of the organization. She lives in Somerville with her husband.
Christopher Daniel - Director of Finance and Operations
Chris Daniel has joined the Infante Sano team serving as Director of Finance and Operations. Chris comes to Infante Sano from the Rhode Island Department of Health where he oversaw the RI Responds Medical Volunteer Program and coordinated the state’s Strategic National Stockpile Program. Additional to his work in domestic preparedness and public health emergency planning, he brings 10 years of management experience from the international humanitarian sector to Infante Sano. He began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon and subsequently served in multiple leadership roles for Catholic Relief Services, an international non-profit. He has worked throughout Africa, South Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean often responding to natural and manmade disasters in countries such as Belize, Democratic Republic of Congo, Haiti, Honduras, Liberia, Pakistan, Sierra Leone and Sudan (Darfur). Chris lives in RI with his wife and two daughters.
Kim Wilson, MD, MPH - Medical Director
Dr. Kim Wilson is a pediatrician at Boston's Children's Hospital/Harvard Medical School with a long history of providing health care and developing health programs for underserved and immigrant populations. She is the former clinical director of pediatrics at Martha Eliot Health Center, a Children's Hospital ambulatory site providing health care to minority (largely Dominican) families. In addition, she is the Associate Director of the International Pediatric Center at Children's Hospital, Boston. Her prior training includes an MD from Harvard Medical School and a Masters in Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health. She co-founded Infante Sano in 2003 with the goal improving health outcomes for mothers and children in Latin America. Kim lives west of Boston with her husband, Roger Nuss, and their four children.
Rachel Breman, MSN, MPH, RN - Program Officer
Rachel Blankstein Breman is the Program Officer for Infante Sano. Prior to working for Infante Sano, Rachel was nursing faculty at Northeastern University and Brockton Hospital School of Nursing. Rachel received her Masters in Nursing, Masters in Public Health and Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore MD. She received a Bachelors degree in Latin American Studies and Spanish Literature from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Rachel has lived and worked in many places around the world including Cape Verde, Angola, Niger, Ghana, Costa Rica and Spain.
Raphaela Oliveira - Office Manager
Raphaela Oliveira was born in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, raised in New York City, and has lived in Boston since 2003. She recently joined the Infante Sano team and has a strong interest in Latin American and Caribbean cultures as well as public health. She brings years of office management skills as well as her fluency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese to Infante Sano.
Jacquelyn Caglia, MPH - Director of Development and Communication
Originally from Pennsylvania with roots in community organizing and service learning, Jacque holds a Masters in Public Health from Boston University. She has held various positions focused on local and international health including several years researching how race, ethnicity, language and culture affect health. Jacque has also worked with various community agencies to evaluate their health interventions and communicate about their work. Jacque has extensive experience in training development and grant writing. She served with the Peace Corps as a community health specialist in the Dominican Republic and maintains her connections to service as the Vice-President of the Boston Area Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. She lives in Cambridge.

Sara Tolentino, M.D. - Medical Director, DR
Dr. Sara Tolentino is a Dominican Pediatrician who became the local Medical Director of Infante Sano in February 2007. Dr. Tolentino speciality area is in nutrition and she has been the president of the Bani Pediatrics Society since 2003. Sara is famous in Bani for being one of the best Pediatricians around, she is adored by all, and has a wonderful sense of humor. She resides in Bani with her husband and three children.
Angel Moya, M.D. – National Program Coordinator
Doctor Moya is a general practitioner with a specialization in nutrition and health management. He joined Infante Sano in April of 2008 and brought his experience of more than 20 years in primary health care. He is married and lives in Santo Domingo with his wife and three children.
Altagracia Villar Luna, M.D. – National Training Coordinator
Doctor Villar Luna is a perinatologist, who graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) and did her specialization at the Hospital Robert R Cabral y Luis E. Aybar. She has worked at the hospital Nuestra Señora de Regla in Baní since 1999 and at the Grupo Medico Baní since 2001. She has been working for Infante Sano since March of 2007 and is currently our National Training Coordinator. Doctor Villar Luna was born in and currently lives in Baní and is married with three children.
Josely Anglada – Community Coordinator
Josely studied Social Sciences and currently works for Infante Sano as our Community Coordinator. She was Infante Sano first employee and moved from her hometown to help get Infante Sano off the ground in August of 2006. Yosely is from the southern area of the Dominican Republic, currently resides in Baní, and has the best laugh you’ll ever hear.
Leonidas Altagracia Santana, RN, MPH – Implementation Coordinator
Leonidas Santana is a registered nurse (RN) with a master’s degree in public health. She has been working with Infante Sano since November 2006 and is currently the Coordinator of Implementation for Infante Sano in the Baní hospital. Leonidas lives in Baní and is married with three children. She has been working for over twenty years between the Hospital Alejandro Cabral in San Juan de la Maguana, the Hospital Nuestra Señora de Regla in Baní and the Ministry of Health’s department of nursing in Santo Domingo.
Jairo Peña – IT Specialist
Jairo started working for Infante Sano in July 2007 as our IT specialist. He studied computer technology and has worked for various organizations as an IT instructor and technician. He currently lives in Baní with his wife.
Maderlin Puello Tejeda – Office Manager / Accountant
Maderlin started working for Infante Sano in April of 2008. She graduated in 2005 with a degree in business administration and has worked in many different professional settings. Maderlin has two sisters, and lives in San Cristobal with her husband.
Victor Peña – Driver
Victor works as Infante Sano’s driver, plus jack-of-all-trades. Victor has been working for Infante Sano since May of 2008, and lives in Baní and with his wife and children.

Dr. Guilluermo A Garcia
Dr Garcia is a practicing OB/GYN working both at the Hospital Nuestra Señora de Regla in Baní and privately at the Grupo Medico clinic in Baní. He graduated from the Universidad Autônoma in Santo Domingo (UASD) in 1979 and completed his post-graduate work in OB/GYN in Hospital Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia in Santo Domingo. He is currently the Director of the Family Planning department at Nuestra Señora de Regla hospital.
Licenciada Juana Josefina Rodríguez
Graduated as a Lic. in nursing from the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo (UASD) in 1991. Certified Surgical Nurse (UASD) Certificate in Hospital Administration (Universidad Eugenio Maria de Hostos). She specialized in radiology (Universidad de Oita, Japan). Juana began collaborating with Infante Sano in 2006 after being trained (by IS) as an instructor for the Neonatal Resuscitation program. She has facilitated Resuscitation trainings given to local doctors and nurses. She has worked at the Nuestra Senora de Regla Hospital in Baní since 1994 and currently is in charge of clinical care at the hospital. Lic. Rodriguez currently resides in Baní.

Anne Hansen, MD
Dr. Anne Hansen is a Neonatologist at Boston Children’s Hospital, and the clinical director of the neonatology program. She started working with Infante Sano in 2007 and is focusing on improving the care of sick infants. She is currently developing practice guidelines and teaching curricula for the Special Care Nursery at Bani, Dominican Republic.
Heather Crouse, MD
Dr. Heather Crouse began working with Infante Sano during her pediatric residency training at Boston Children’s Hospital, and continues to work with us during her fellowship in International Health and Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Baylor University. She has a long history of commitment and experience in international medicine, including work in medical translation, coordinating international medical student electives, and clinical work in several Latin American countries. Over the last 2 years she has coordinated the Neonatal Resuscitation training and several outpatient care experiences. She intends to spend 2 months per year in the Dominican Republic working on the project.
Karen Sadler, MD
Dr. Karen Sadler joined Infante Sano in 2005 and currently works with IS on community outreach efforts. She brings over 15 years of experience working with under-served populations in Massachusetts, both with children and adolescents. Trained at Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital, Boston, she is currently affiliated with Harvard through the Massachusetts General Hospital for Children. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Sadler serves as a pediatric consultant for an on-line parenting magazine and runs a school-based program in Framingham that addresses pediatric obesity.
Luz Maria Davila, RN, BSN
Luz Maria began working with Infante Sano in January of 2007. Her involvement with the organization is focused on contributing to curriculum development and implementation. Her prior training includes Maternal-Child nursing in the USAF 1978-1982 and she also specialized in Newborn ICU in 1984. She has worked in various hospitals across the USA as a traveling nurse, with a primary focus on sick newborns from 1988-1994. She settled in Boston in Jan 1995 working in the NICU at Boston's Children's Hospital. Today she continues to work at CHB as a day shift Charge Nurse and works closely with the Spanish speaking families.
Marikim Bunnell, MD
Dr. Mari-Kim Bunnell has worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston since 1989, where she currently practices obstetrics. In addition, she is an Assistant Clinical Professor for Harvard Medical School. For the last 8 years Dr. Bunnell has also been doing technical training as well as helping equip La Maternidad Hospital in Chimbote, Peru. She works on Infante Sano’s medical team doing program development.
Maura McCarthy - Treasurer
Maura comes to Infante Sano with several years of operational experience in the venture-capital arena with business startups, but has a strong personal interest in public health. Maura serves as the Treasurer, coordinating legal, accounting, and other back-office activities for Infante Sano, as well as providing strategic help on fundraising and growth plans.
Sophy J. Rodriguez RN, BSN, & Lorianne Boa RN, BSN
Lori and Sophy are bilingual Neonatal Intensive Care nurses and have worked in the NICU and PICU at Children's Hospital in Boston since graduating from Northeastern University. They joined Infante Sano in January of 2007 and are working on developing and implementing the hospital-based training program in Bani, DR.
Dominika Seidman
Dominika (Nika) Seidman is a Harvard Medical School student who is interested in a career in international women's health. Between her 3rd and 4th years, she took a year off to work with Infante Sano in Bani. In addition to supporting Infante Sano's maternal health activities, Nika's project focuses on implementation of the partograph, a tool used to monitor women during active labor and to reduce maternal and infant mortality. Her work is funded by the Office of Enrichment Programs at Harvard Medical School.
Sue Torrey, MD
Dr. Sue Torrey practices pediatric emergency medicine at Children’s Hospital Boston and is the deputy editor for pediatric emergency medicine for the online medical reference UpToDate®. Over the last 5 years she has worked regularly on developing and coordinating international training programs in pediatric resuscitation and pediatric emergency care in Honduras, Belize, and the United Arab Emirates. She has worked with Infante Sano since it’s inception in 2003. Her focus has been on the development and implementation of hospital-based training programs, such as neonatal resuscitation. Sue received an MD from the University of Connecticut. Her post-graduate training includes a residency in Pediatrics at St Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia and a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is board certified in pediatrics, emergency medicine, and pediatric emergency medicine.
