Positions Currently Available:
Director of Finance / Operations
Infante Sano is seeking a Director of Finance / Operations to take the lead in finance and operations, and to play a major role in development, communications, and strategic planning. The Director of Finance / Operations will be responsible for logistics, operations, finance, and legal matters. We are looking for someone who has the ability to think strategically and become a valuable member of a fun cross-cultural expanding non-profit.
Responsibilities:
• Provide support to all areas of the organization, including communications and program managers, on business analysis questions, vendor management, and outsourcing
• Work closely with the Executive Director and President to develop a longer-term strategic planning process, as well as a more robust annual operating planning and budgeting process
• Work in coordination with legal counsel, as necessary
• Manage vendor relationships
• Work with local hospitals and staff to coordinate medical equipment donations
• Approval of big-ticket spending (purchase of assets, etc.)
• Work with accountant to reconcile bank statements in the US / DR
• Ongoing assessment and continuous improvement of the key processes in operations, including:
• Compensation, benefits, and human resources policies
• Staff performance review, training, and individual staff development plans
• Financial accounting and reporting
• Cost analysis
• Budgeting
• Systems for processing donations and for responding to donor inquires
• Participate in the hiring process of new employees
• Ensure smooth and efficient operations between Boston and the DR
• Participate in grant writing
• Bi-annual international site visits
Qualifications:
• Budgeting experience required
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required
• Fluency in Spanish is required
• Extremely organized
• Strong writing, editing and communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Team player
• Ability to work independently with specific targeted goals
• Experience working for an international public health organization
• Previous experience in a start-up entrepreneurial organization is a plus
• Managerial experience is a plus

Infante Sano is seeking a campaign coordinator to manage communication / fund raising campaigns.
Sponsor a Birth: The sponsor a birth campaign is a targeted fund raising campaign where by individuals can sponsor a clean, safe birth for a mother in the Dominican Republic for $25 or for $300 they can sponsor a birth a month for a year.
Responsibilities:
• Develop a strategic plan for the marketing campaign
• Work in coordination with the Director of Marketing and Communications to manage and design our Sponsor a Birth webpage (overall layout and wording, no programming experience necessary)
• Get the sponsor a birth campaign in magazines, web pages, and newspapers
• Work to start a “viral” email campaign -- where people pass along the email to friends
• Develop a database to track your progress and to look at what has worked most efficiently
Goals:
• Develop a “message” that defines Infante Sano that will be applied across all campaigns
• Get the “Sponsor a Birth” onto 5-10 web pages
• Get the “Sponsor a Birth” in 5-10 publications in either magazines or newspapers
• Start a viral campaign on websites like Facebook, MySpace, etc
• Get 5,000 people to sponsor a birth by the end of 2008
• Recruit 2,000 Diplomats: Infante Sano Diplomats are the centerpiece of our program to promote healthy births for the 13 million children born each year in Latin America and the Caribbean. Diplomats make a critical difference in the lives of women and children through their financial contributions ($300/year) as well as their advocacy of our program. Diplomats sponsor a-birth-a-month for a year in the Dominican Republic, as well as extend our reach to other parts of the developed world by signing up 10 of their friends. Both activities increase our impact on the health and well being of mothers and newborns
OBGYN / Pediatrician offices: Work with the OBGYNs / Pediatricians to get Infante Sano communication materials into their offices, figure out what works, and stock materials at the offices as necessary.
Responsibilities:
• Develop a strategic plan for your marketing campaign
• Develop a database to track your progress and to look at what has worked most efficiently
• Out reach to new possible doctor offices
• Develop ideas for other marketing materials for offices such as; framed photography, coffee table books, calendars, handouts, etc.
Goals:
• Get 25 new doctor’s offices involved
• Increase the visibility of Infante Sano in the health community
• Increase the amount of donors through the campaign
• Analyze the different possible campaign visuals and recommend the most efficient method to get people involved
Increase Hispanic participation: Design and implement a campaign to get more Hispanics involved and to increase the visibility of Infante Sano.
Qualifications:
• Strong writing, editing and communication skills
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Experience marketing ideas
• Out-going personality that likes working at a grass roots level
• Strong communications skills
• Creative
• Organized
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with specific targeted goals
• Access to a car and willing to travel around the metropolitan Boston area
• Experience in international health or the health field
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ International: Volunteer Nurse for the Dominican Republic
Requirements:
• Ability to commit to coming to the Dominican Republic for at least 3-6 months.
• Spanish language proficiency
• At least 6 months of clinical experience (For a nursing student experience as an LPN or nursing tech would be sufficient, especially if they had more than 6 months of clinical experience.)
• An interest in maternal and/or neonatal health, community health, or infection control.
• Flexibility and ability to adapt to a different environment.
• A volunteer would need to bring his or her own laptop computer.
Our program provides housing to volunteers.
