• Early recognition of danger signs during pregnancy

 

Care During Childbirth
• Clean, safe delivery with skilled, attentive health workers
• Recognition of danger signs and treatment or referral as needed
• Improved emergency obstetrical care

 

Newborn Care
• Basic newborn care
• Treatment for asphyxia and resuscitation if needed
• Special care for low-birth weight babies
• Immediate, exclusive breastfeeding
• Emergency care for sick newborns
